Personal Responsibility

The BEST medicine is nature.

It is in no way shape or form surprising to me that the county where I live would have higher rates of covid-19 than some other places in California. It doesn’t take a genius to connect the dots and it certainly goes beyond masks or the fact that we had started opening up small businesses prior to this latest mandate. I worked as a nurse in the hospital here on just about every adult med surg floor and all of the maternal-child floors and the bottom line? The overall population in Tulare County is in terrible health! Even the “healthy” people in the hospital having babies often suffered from the same county-wide comorbidities of obesity, diabetes, and hypertension (high blood pressure), which sometimes greatly affected their birth experience, their postpartum health, and their new baby’s health.

Never mind all of the people with cancer likely due to the large-scale agriculture operations here, that feed the entire country, which are known for pesticides that poison our food, air, and water. Never mind all of the people with COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease – a condition affecting the lungs), because our air quality is some of the worst in the nation (even worse than the Ohio River Valley). The same dirty air that causes high rates of childhood asthma and leads pediatricians here to urge parents to move out of this area to get their child to cleaner air! Never mind the high rates of heart disease due to things such as obesity and hypertension. The general population here is sedentary and overweight. They eat unhealthy foods and drink non-nutritious sugary drinks day in and day out.

Are we really surprised that the already sick people here are getting this virus? Are we really going to blame it on everything but people’s overall health prior to this pandemic? Are we really at a place where we’re going to blame it on people who take care of their body, mind, and spirit and are asymptomatic?

No one wants to hear the truth in this or with any other illness, but people get covid and the seasonal flu generally when they are not taking good care of themselves. I had to wear a mask in the hospital for every flu season I worked there for the entirety of each shift, because of my previous health issues. The flu shot had given me a hyper immune response and caused me to become VERY ill while I was in nursing school and every doctor and specialist on my team after that told me to never get the flu shot again. So I listened. I wore the mask for my 12+ hour shifts starting November 1st and stretching sometimes to June of every year for the over 5 years I worked there. I watched as my vaccinated coworkers, one after another, would come down with the flu. We’d be short staffed in the winter, in part, because of the sick calls. I did not get the flu.

Did you know that nurses are some of the unhealthiest people? Being a nurse is highly stressful without a pandemic and many consume lots of fast food, sugary, caffeinated drinks, and alcohol after work to get through it. What happens when a person eats and drinks garbage and doesn’t take time to take care of themselves physically, mentally and spiritually? Their immune systems become compromised and their bodies detox. They get sick. What happens when a population of people doesn’t take care of their health and then are also exposed to pesticides and other chemicals in their air, food and water and radiation from their electronics and the cell towers that now surround us, and then a virus like covid-19 comes along? They get it. Why? Because comorbidities put an already taxed system at an increased risk. Period. Running ourselves down to the ground IS a comorbidity. Who else often has weakened immune systems, because of a lifetime of this and exposure to things in the environment? The elderly. Who is most greatly affected by covid-19? The elderly.

So we can talk about masks and social distancing or we can talk about health. Because it’s the health of our body, mind, and spirit that matters most. There is only one person responsible for the state of my health: ME. And I’m not going to shift that responsibility to anyone or anything else. I even own the emergent near heart failure that hit me out of nowhere which was caused by Lyme Disease and other tick-born infections, because I understand that when we ignore our own needs, when we repeatedly ignore our own heart and intuition, and when we work to please everyone but ourselves, we eventually get sick. There’s no way around it. We do not get to put ourselves last indefinitely, unscathed. It’s not possible. When we’re living that way, saving everyone but ourselves, putting everyone’s needs ahead of our own, we are out of alignment with our own spirit. The only way to get us back on track is to jolt us awake. We get sick and almost die, or we get into a car accident and almost die etc. We come out of the experience forced to finally put ourselves and our well-being FIRST.

I experienced this firsthand. After my emergency heart surgery, I physically felt the effects of stress in my life in the form of recurring chest pain. I no longer had the luxury of living a stressful life and ignoring it. I had to start subtracting things and people from my life that were causing me stress. My life depended on it. At that point, we are left with no choice.

Today, we have a choice. Everyone has a choice. Are you going to take ownership of your health or are you going to pass the blame to someone else? Are you going to come up with the solutions for yourself or are you going to look to others to save you via vaccines or medications? As a former patient and nurse, this is a topic I have much experience with and the vaccines and medications have never been the answer. We are born with healthy, resilient immune systems that are slowly weakened by the subpar nutrition we feed our body, mind, and spirit. We are weak in our misalignment with our own spirit. There are also multidimensional causes to our ailments sometimes created by a belief we locked in at the spirit level in a past life. In the same way, the genetic lines of our parents can also affect us. Our reality will always reflect back to us our beliefs about ourselves and life. No matter how you slice it, in the end, our well-being or lack there of, is always ultimately our own, personal responsibility.

Expand Your Awareness

The water carves out the rock just like our experiences carve out our perception. The other rocks can’t know what it is like to meander the way the other rocks do. Our unique reality and perception come from a collection of circumstances and events that only we have experienced. No one else will ever experience life in just the way that we have, therefore no one else will ever have the same collection of knowledge that we do. This is why it’s so important to share our stories with others, because in our living, we each unlock keys that can help others along on their own journeys.

Though we have felt it important for other people to understand us and our perception of reality, it has never been fully possible or important that they do. Our purpose to show up as ourselves supersedes any other perceived contribution that we can make in our lifetime. Because, it is our own alignment with our spirit in fully being who we came here to be that moves our own consciousness to the cutting edge of where it was before and therefore shifts the consciousness of the collective.

When we conform or stay quiet for fear of what other’s perceptions of us will be, we greatly hinder ourselves and the collective from experiencing our full potential. It is helping no one when we are quick to jump in and criticize another’s unique way of looking at life, because in trying to keep them at our level, we’re essentially holding ourselves and the collective back from fully expanding.

I am so grateful to the inspiring people I have to look up to and learn from who know much about things I do not or that I have barely scratched the surface to come to know. Those people are valuable to my life and my experience, because they push me to my edges of awareness for the benefit of expanding my consciousness. Don’t be afraid to question the main narrative or the narrative that you’ve identified with for a great number of years.

I used to think that there were certain things that people believed that could never be changed. From my own personal experience, I have learned this to be false. I limited myself by thinking that I knew the answers and knew what was “right”. Once I allowed my spirit to guide me and I asked to be shown the true nature of this world, an influx of information and knowledge has flooded into my life that has completely flipped my perception of how things work. We are never bound by our beliefs unless we choose to be. Our beliefs can cause us to completely block information out even if it is true, because our reality is always proving us correct. When you have thought something for so long that it’s turned into a belief, you essentially create a reality where you cannot perceive anything outside of that belief.

People do this with so many topics, politics being a big one. For instance, if you have locked in a belief that Trump is the enemy, you will never open your mind far enough to see that he is actually doing some amazing things right now like combating human trafficking and cutting funding to the corrupt World Health Organization (WHO). These observations are coming from someone who literally avoided listening to the man speak for most of his presidency, because of decisions I had made about him even prior to his election. There are currently over 150,000 sealed indictments which is a large, generally unheard of amount. So much is about to be exposed, it’ll make most people’s heads spin. Things are shifting in huge ways, and most people are so focused on their beliefs or the virus to even notice. Question everything, because chances are, you have some blind spots that are painting your reality with things that are actually falsities appearing as truth.
